  1. You Don’t Need Checkboxes on Forms 01:50
    • If you have some sort of opt-in on your site, you don’t always need to have a checkbox saying “I consent”.
    • A simple update to your copy in the opt-in can be sufficient.
  2. You Don’t Need to Get Consent for Every Cookie or Script 03:05
    • It depends on if the cookie or script is going to be tracking personal information.
    • If you track personal data, you need consent. If you don’t, you don’t need consent.
    • For example, if you turn off the tracking of personal data for Google Analytics, you don’t need consent to use this on your website.
  3. You Don’t Need to Send a Re-Engagement Email to All Subscribers 06:34
    • As long as you have prior consent to your email list, that carriers over.
    • You don’t need subscribers to re-subscribe based on your new privacy policy.
    • If you don’t have proof of prior consent, then maybe you should send a re-engagement email.
    • But if you have proof in your email system that “this person signed up for this reason and consented on this day”, then you should be fine.
